Irie Taikichi Memorial Museum of Photography Nara City or 入江泰吉記念奈良市写真美術館 located at 600-1 Takabatakecho, Nara, Nara Prefecture 630-8301, Japan country. The Museum of Photography is the first photo museum in Western Japan. Scenery of Nara Yamatoji road and cultural assets such as photos, Buddha images, exhibitions, shops and surrounding areas, with about 80,000 images of Irie Taikichi.

The large roof and the glass wall of the building have distinctive characteristics. The show room and memorial room are mostly underground. Museum open from 9:30 am – 16:30 pm and close during on Monday holidays. How to get there: 

  • By train First take the city loop bus at JR or Kintetsu train Nara Station and get off at Wari Ishicho. (Wariishichou) and you will see the building immediately. or
  • Getting there from Kintetsu Nara Station, Kintetsu-Nara Line. Take the Nara Koo Bus, Nara Ring Road. Clockwise 6 minutes down to Wariishi-cho station and walk 10 minutes.
  • For driving Please use the Hanchin Highway No. 13, No.13 Hanshin Highway Touosaka line “Mizuhai IC”.
