Chiang Mai Zoo located at 100 Huay Keow Road, Suthep Sub-district, Muang District, Chiang Mai of Thailand. The zoo is divided into three zones and offers many kinds of activities for the visitors. Chiang Mai zoo is a big zoo with variety of animals, e.g. Giant Panda, Koala and many more.
Chiang Mai Zoo Aquarium is also an aquatic living museum with a 133-meter underwater tunnel and the exhibition zone with penguins, finches, and small colorful bird that has nickname as “flying jewels”. When you at the zoo that you can travel around by the monorail. For each monorail can carry 50 – 70 passengers each time and stops in the 4 highlight attractions along with 2 km route.
At Birds zone that you will see Nakhon Ping Bird Aviary which is a large bird aviary that covers an area of 9,600 square meter. This is the biggest bird aviary of Thailand where you can explore vast array of more than 132 bird species.
Zoo kids Zone are zone for kids that features many lovely animals and various recreations for kids. This zone has been improved in every aspect on location, plaything, learning media which will help enhance kids learn on imagination.
Chiang Mai Zoo open from 10.00 am – 16.00 pm on Monday to Friday and from 09.00 am – 16.30 pm on public holidays. Moreover the zoo also offers a tram service with local guide for night sightseeing from 18.30 pm – 21.00 pm.
