Appreciation and Analysis of “Picking Mulberries·Hate the Lord Is Not Like Jiang Lou Yue”

“Picking Sangzi·Hate the Lord Is Not Like Jiang Louyue” is the work of Song dynasty poet Lu Benzhong. This is a poem that uses Mingyue to express the feeling of parting. In the first film, when I write goodbye, only the bright moon in the sky can accompany me. In the next film, the moon’s “temporary fullness and loss” is used as a metaphor for people’s long goodbye.

The whole word is written purely in line drawing, with a folk song flavor, sincere emotion, simple and natural. The structure adopts the form of repetitive chapters and repetitions, which has the beauty of turning back and forth and singing three sighs. The main body of the upper and lower films is the same, but with slight changes, forming a sharp contrast, unique ingenuity.

Original works
Hate the Lord is not like Jiang Louyue, north-south east-west, north-south east-south, only with each other.

Hate Jun is like Jiang Louyue. It is still a loss when it is full, and when it is full, when will it be reunited?

Annotation translation
Verbal comment

Picking mulberry: word brand name. Also known as “Ugly Nuer Ling”, “Luo Fu Yan Ge”, “Luo Fu Mei”.

Jun: This refers to the wife of the poet. I say this word because the wife misses her husband. Jianglou: A pavilion leaning against the river.

Temporary fullness or loss: Refers to the short-term consummation of the moon and then there will be a loss. Full, this refers to the full moon; loss, this refers to the lack of the moon.

Vernacular translation

I hate that you are not like the bright moon hanging upstairs by the river. No matter people are wandering from north to south, east to west, the bright moon is always with people.

I hate that you are like a bright moon hanging upstairs by the river, and it was missing when it was just completed. I don’t know when to wait until the bright moon is full again.

Appreciation of works
This poem is about parting. In the previous film, he wrote that he was floating in the ocean, his whereabouts were uncertain, and his life was drifting from north to south. He often missed Jun (referring to his wife) under the moon, and only the moon came to accompany him. On the surface, it says “Hate Jun”, but in fact it is Si Jun. On the surface, it is said that only the moon appears and never parting, but in fact it means that I often leave with Jun. In the next film, the temporary fullness of the month is still at a loss, which is a metaphor for the temporary reunion between him and Jun.

The characteristic of this poem is rich in folk song flavor. Folk songs are natural expressions of feelings, without allusions, they are line descriptions. This poem is just a natural expression of true feelings, and it is also a sketch. Folk songs often take the form of repeated singing, and the same goes for this poem.

Not only is it due to the characteristics of the word “Cai Mulberry”, the two sentences like “North and South East” and “Temporary fullness and loss” are repeated; even the upper and lower sections are repeated with changes, such as “Hate the Lord is not like Jiang Louyue” It is only one word difference from “Hate the Lord but Like Jiang Louyue”, just like the overlap in folk songs. In addition, folk songs often use metaphors. The “Jianglouyue” in this word is a metaphor.

The metaphor of “Jianglouyue” in the poem is very artistic. Qian Zhongshu once talked about “the two handles of metaphors” and “the multilateral metaphors”. Qian Zhongshu’s so-called two handles: “The same thing, aided as a metaphor, or praise, or depreciation, or to show joy, or to show evil, the mood of the words are very different; the learning of ci, it is necessary to give instructions.” This first word uses water. Nakayuki is used as a metaphor. One expresses admiration and the other expresses dissatisfaction, but the feelings are different. They are called the two metaphors. To use the month as a metaphor, it can be compared to a circle and brighter. This is the metaphor of multilateralism.

This poem uses “Jianglouyue” as a comparison. The poet praised “Jianglouyue” in the first film. North and South, east and west, only follow each other. It is about people who are drifting everywhere, but the moon follows people and never Separation is a compliment. The next film also uses “Jianglouyue” as a comparison, “It is still a loss for the time being, how long is it to be reunited”, it is said that when the moon is full, there is less time, there is more time, and reunion is rare. It is a hate word .

Similarly, using “Jianglouyue” as a comparison, one praise and one hate, is to use the same thing as a metaphor to express different feelings in an article, thus having two handles. In addition, the “Jiang Louyue” in the first film is a metaphor of “there is nothing but to stay together”; the “Jiang Louyue” in the next film is a metaphor of “How long will it be to be reunited”

In the same word, the same metaphor is used, but the comparison is different, which constitutes a multilateral. In this way, the same metaphor, in a single word, has two handles and multiple sides, which is difficult to find.

Therefore, the metaphor used in this poem is very prominent in rhetoric. Moreover, such a metaphor is a natural expression of emotions, not intentional, and is used very appropriately by the poet. This is the more commendable feature of this first phrase.
