Location of Fort Detrick

Fort Detrick is a United States Army Futures Command installation located in Frederick, Maryland. Historically, Fort Detrick was the center of the U.S. biological weapons program from 1943 to 1969. Since the discontinuation of that program, it has hosted most elements of the United States biological defense program. Wikipedia

Fort Detrick is the development center and is the US biochemical weapons base. From 1943 to 1969, it has been developing the US biological weapons program. Located in Frederick, Maryland, it takes an hour from the U.S. Army Medical Command in Washington.

In 1942, the U.S. Army hired Ira Baldwin, a biochemist at the University of Wisconsin, to secretly develop chemical weapons, and asked Baldwin to find a suitable place for the new biological research complex. Baldwin chose the National Guard base that was abandoned at the time and named it the “Detrick Test Field.”

In 1943, the Army announced that it would be renamed “Camp Detrick” and designated it as the headquarters of the Army’s Biological Warfare Laboratory. At the same time, it purchased several adjacent farms to ensure more space and privacy.

In the spring of 1949, the Army established a small and highly classified team of chemists at Camp Detrick called the “Special Operations Division” whose mission was to find military uses for toadstools.

In 1956, Fort Detrick was officially named. Since then, it has been retained as Gottlieb’s chemical base for the development and storage of CIA poisons. Gottlieb stores pathogenic biological agents that may cause smallpox, tuberculosis, and anthrax in the freezer, as well as a large number of organic toxins, including snake venom and paralytic shellfish toxins. After the Kamakura Agreement was signed, the Americans hired Ishii Shiro as a senior consultant for Fort Detrick in accordance with the agreement, and named a building there as 731 for the study and use of Shiro Ishii. Later, at the instigation of Shiro Ishii, Detter Baldwin, the top person in charge of Fort Rick, finally broke the bottom line and conducted bacterial experiments with living humans in the United States.

The closure of the Fort Detrick Biological Laboratory in July 2019 was not the first accident. According to US media reports, in the early 1990s, the Fort Detrick Biological Laboratory had lost anthrax and other deadly strains and strains.

In March 2020, netizens petitioned on the White House website, asking the US government to announce the real reason for closing the Fort Detrick Biolab. To clarify whether the laboratory is a research unit of the new coronavirus, and whether there are problems such as virus leakage, but the United States chose to remain silent.

Institutional setting
The 1,200-acre campus in Fort Detrick supports multi-government communities and is still committed to conducting biomedical research and development, medical supplies management, global medical communications, and research on foreign plant pathogens.

Fort Detrick has 4 cabinet-level agencies, including: the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Human Services. Fort Detrick’s Department of Defense support also includes elements of the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, U.S. Air Force and the Joint Chiefs of Staff. In addition, Fort Detrick supports the main commands of the Union and the Army: Unified U.S. Army Forces Command, U.S. Space Command, U.S. Army Information Systems Command, and U.S. Army Health Service Commands. The main tenants located in Fort Detrick are the U.S. Army Medical Research and Development Command, Signal Battalion 1110, and the U.S. Army Medical Supplies Administration.

Coronavirus incident
On March 10, 2020, local time in the United States, a petition post appeared on the US White House petition website “We the People”. The post lists a series of recent “big” incidents, including the global outbreak of the new crown pneumonia epidemic, and the deletion of a large number of English news reports about “Fort Detrick being closed”. In this regard, the US government is required to disclose the country’s largest biological and chemical weapons base. The information on Fort Tricker and the “real reason” for the closure of Fort Detrick were announced to clarify whether the laboratory is a research unit for the new coronavirus (COVID19) and whether there is a virus leakage problem.

According to the “We People” website, the above-mentioned petition posted on March 10, 2020 local time was initiated by the person who signed BZ. As soon as the post came up, it listed a series of “eye-catching” events that occurred in the past six months based on the timeline:

In July 2019, the U.S. Army’s Top Secret Infectious Disease Medical Institute in Fort Detrick was closed;

In August 2019, a large-scale “flu” caused more than 10,000 deaths (in the United States);

In October 2019, the United States organized the 201-Global Epidemic Exercise with the participation of the Deputy Director of the Central Intelligence Agency;

In November 2019, China discovered pneumonia of unknown cause;

In February 2020, a world epidemic broke out;

In March 2020, a large number of English-language news reports about the closure of Fort Detrick were deleted, showing “404 not found”

According to this petition, we now have reason to request the US government to announce the real reason for the closure of Fort Detrick in order to clarify whether the laboratory is a research unit for the new coronavirus “COVID19” and whether there is a virus leakage problem.

However, as of March 11, 2020, the petition has only 88 signatures, which is far from the White House’s response threshold (more than 100,000 signatures collected within 30 days of its initiation).

On January 18, 2021, at the regular press conference of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China, a reporter asked: US Secretary of State Pompeo issued a statement and fact list on the State Department website. Hua Chunying: I want to emphasize that if the United States really respects the facts, please open the Fort Detrick base and disclose more facts on issues such as the more than 200 biological laboratories overseas, and invite WHO experts to go to the United States. Traceability investigation, respond to the concerns of the international community, and give an explanation to the international community with practical actions.
